Our retirement and pension planning specialist, Ailsa Thomas has won an award from the Personal Finance Society, the professional body for financial planning in the UK. She is officially, Retirement and Later Life Advice Specialist of the year.

Shining a spotlight on those who deliver high standards, the Personal Finance Society Awards celebrate outstanding individuals in the financial advice sector. The awards are open to any individual or firm regardless of their size, and as such, being chosen as the Retirement and Later Life Advice Specialist of the year is a great honour. We are exceptionally proud of Ailsa; it’s fantastic to see her effort and passion for the profession recognised.

This award specifically celebrates excellence and commitment to the provision of retirement and later life financial advice, an area in which Ailsa specialises.  

Retirement and Later Life Advice Specialist of the year was judged by a diverse panel from varied roles appointed by the Personal Finance Society, including Consumer representatives, Media representatives, a Chartered Financial Planner and a Personal Finance Society Board director. All judges are bound by a duty of confidentiality, no correspondence will be entered into with or on behalf of entrants concerning the judges’ decisions which are final and binding.

Working in the financial services sector since 2000, Ailsa has experience of all types of investments and pensions. This includes occupational pension schemes, private pensions, pension transfers and pensions on divorce. She has held Chartered Financial Planner Status since 2010, is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and holds the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) accreditation. 

In her personal life, she enjoys meeting up with family and friends, especially walking in the local countryside. In fact, recently she volunteered at Brockholes Nature Reserve, clearing the outdoor education areas of brambles and nettles, making the area ready for Autumn school visits.
